Art & Retail Advisor
Toronto
Advising private collectors and modern retailers with a single, well-trained eye. Always looking.
About
As a senior buyer and merchandise director for Macy’s, Holt Renfrew, Canada Goose and Elte, Jo Jo’s job was to commit, months ahead and with real money on the line, to what people would want before they knew they wanted it. Buying at that level is a discipline of the eye. It teaches you to hold a point of view under pressure, to listen as carefully as you look, and to be accountable for your taste in the only way that matters: whether it was right.
Art was never a departure from that work. It was where her eye kept going. Years of collecting, studying and standing in front of things she couldn’t stop thinking about eventually became a formal certificate in art business from Sotheby’s Institute, and then a practice. For the past four years she has advised private collectors through Robin Rosenberg Fine Art, guiding acquisitions for clients who collect with intention, whether they are placing a first serious work or shaping a collection they’ll live with for decades.
Clients come to her for her eye, and stay for how well she understands theirs. Every collection she helps build is unmistakably the client’s own: shaped by their story, their spaces, their ambitions, and sharpened by her judgment about what is truly worth owning.
She still keeps one foot in the world that trained her, advising retailers and emerging fashion and lifestyle brands on merchandising, assortment and go-to-market strategy. Jo Jo holds a business degree from Emory University and lives in Toronto, where she is always looking.
